Office
Manager: Cari
Nicholson
Cari brings a friendly, approachable nature and detailed organizational skills to Beyond Audio. She went back to college in 2001 and graduated with honors with a 4.0 G.P.A in Business Administration. Cari started with Beyond Audio as our Bookkeeper and Office Manager and now has the added responsibility as our Human Resources Manager. She continued her training at CEDIA in 2006 and has taken on going courses to keep up to date with the changing employment laws. Cari enjoys her work and is an asset to our team.
Systems
Engineer and GM: Mike
Ohman
Mike holds a diploma in Power Engineering from SAIT, and worked for 15 years as
a professional musician and audio engineer with some of the world’s top
recording artists. Mike has designed 2 recording studios, and regularly
consults on studio design and acoustics, as well as home theatre design.
Mike is Image Science Foundation Certified, THX Level 11 Certified and is a
CEDIA Certified Electronic Systems Designer.
Systems Design and Lead Programmer: Dieter
Planz
Dieter is a diverse talent to say the least. Fluent in German and English, Dieter
has studied business administration, worked as an automotive technician and studied
anthropology and archaeology at Okanagan University College, and has owned a computer
consulting business. As well as working full time at Beyond Audio, Dieter owns
HardCore PaintBall in Kelowna, is happily married and the father of two.
Service Manager: Kieran
Armstrong-Rach
Kieran grew up in the Okanagan and attended school in Toronto where he completed training in car and home electronics. He then moved to Vancouver where he started his career in the home electronics industry before he moved back to the Okanagan Valley. An integral part of the Beyond Audio team, Kieran continued his education at CEDIA in 2006, where he achieved his CEDIA Level 1 Installer Certificate. He then achieved RTI’s Level 3 Master Programmer Certificate and most recently attended the Runco Academy in Portland in 2008. Kieran's commitment to continuing education and his experience as a technician and programmer, has given him the leadership qualities, strategical thinking and pursuit for excellence that ensures the quality of work we provide for our clients through our Service Department.
Executive Assistant: Kelly Shepherd
Kelly obtained her Audio Engineering Certification in 2006 at Okanagan College. She has 4 years experience in the live music industry and 3 years of Marketing, Promotions, and Event Coordinating. The electronic industry is an exciting challenge and she enjoys learning something new everyday.
Technician: Rick
Land
Rick migrated to the Electronic Systems Contracting environment after working
as an electrician and security system installer for several years. Prior to that
Rick worked for Hewlett Packard as a technical support agent. Rick has a passion
for the business of making homes come alive.
Technician: Drew Dakin
Drew grew up in Cranbrook and came to Beyond Audio with 3 years of electrical experience. His background ranges from retail sales of consumer electronics, to installing car and home audio/video systems. He received his CEDIA Level 1 Installer Certificate in 2007 and attended the Runco Academy in February 2008. Drew’s passion is building and programming advanced systems and making them easy to understand and operate for everyone. He is friendly, out going and always up for a challenge.
